Emily thoroughly enjoys performing and the harp lends itself to this with its dramatic appearance and magical sound. Emily is available for weddings, private functions, events, concerts, festivals and just about anything in between.
Emily has an extensive repertoire on both the harp and the violin. She plays a diverse range from classical, celtic, folk, traditional, jazz and blues through to contemporary music and improvisation. Emily also loves to experiment with sounds through her effects and amplification units. Emily is happy to discuss particular styles of performance to suit your tastes and preferences. She is also happy to accommodate song requests if given adequate time; pretty much anything can work on the harp. Of course the classics from such composers as Bach, Handel & Pachelbel are timeless but even the most unlikely seeming music can sound great on the harp, from Radiohead or Ed Sheeran to Metallica! If your requests are extensive or require significant preparation time then there may be a small fee to reflect this. Feel free to have a chat with Emily about your ideas.
Instruments & Amplification
Emily has a selection of instruments including pedal harp, lever harp and violin. Emily’s main instrument is her beautiful full sized concert pedal harp from Camac Harps in France, a stunning piece of art in maple and spruce. She also has a 34 string lever harp made here in Tasmania. Emily is happy to discuss you preferences for the instrument you would like her to play at your event.
Generally, the harp does not require amplification, however this can easily be arranged if required. The pedal harp has an active pickup and Emily has her own high quality Bose PA system which can be provided, however access to power is necessary.
Emily’s prices start at $350, however she is happy to tailor a package to suit your individual needs and is very flexible in her approach. Please don’t hesitate to contact Emily to discuss your needs and she will provide a detailed quote taking into account the nature of the event, duration of performance and any travel involved.
Emily finds it is best to arrange to meet with you in person if possible, giving you an opportunity to hear her music and to talk through your requirements. There is no charge associated with this meeting, and there is no obligation to make a booking.
If you decide to go ahead, Emily requires a $100 non-refundable deposit in order to secure the booking.
